EFQM Middle East Summit

We were delighted to welcome guests from a wide range of exceptional organisations worldwide to our 1st EFQM Middle East Summit in Dubai.
The summit took a deep dive into organisations' transformational journey and experience using The EFQM Model and reflections on their achievements and best practices. We also experienced thought-provoking presentations from keynotes that challenged our audience; we were delighted to hear the interest and enthusiasm from all the distinguished guests.
On this occasion, EFQM also signed two partnership agreements with prestigious organisations. The first agreement was signed with Emirate Health Services (EHS) to establish an Excellence and Quality Award for Healthcare Providers and a program for leadership development to enhance the performance of the healthcare sector in the UAE. The second agreement was with the Kurdistan Agency for Normalisation to set up the agency as a partner to deliver EFQM courses in the Kurdish language.
The EFQM Middle East Summit was opened by EFQM Chairman and CEO of City of Glasgow College, Dr Paul Little. Paul has been EFQM Chairman since 2018 and a member of our board since 2014. We are grateful for his continued support and for joining us at The Grand Hyatt to celebrate our first summit in the region.

We were extremely delighted to receive a speech from HE Major General Fares Khalaf Al Mazroui, Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police, our platinum sponsor, who welcomed the audience and highlighted Abu Dhabi Police's achievements and its contribution leading to ranking Abu Dhabi as the safest city for the past 6 years. We thank Abu Dhabi police for their continuous support.
HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), EFQM Global Award Winner, highlighted DEWA's experience in adopting the model and its achievement as a pioneering organisation.

The first keynote of the day, Dr Nadar Sabry, provided his expertise on the future of growth in an inspirational presentation. He spoke about the key characteristic of leaders who will shape our future and challenged the audience to change their mindset and unlock their unseen possibilities.

Following this was our first panel of the day, "Future Readiness through Innovation & Technology" was moderated by EFQM's Gianluca Mulè, as he invited speakers from DEWA, Abu Dhabi Police, RTA, Dubai customs and Dubai police to the stage. The panel discussed their experience with innovative technology within their organisations and how they are becoming future ready.

Israa Mobideen, Middle East Director, welcomes speakers from DGEP, KACE and Club Excelencia to the stage to discuss "The Impact of Excellence Programs in Country Transformation".

This global perspective was an outstanding addition to the summit as they discussed how excellence programs are essential in the journey of country transformation.
Keolis CEO Benjamin Vautrin shared his experience of being a part of the EFQM community and Keolis's journey using The Model and becoming 6 Stars Recognised by EFQM in 2021. We were delighted for him to join us and share the long relationship between EFQM and Keolis.

Our CEO Russell Longmuir moderated the "Achieving Sustainable Excellence" panel with speakers from CITC, Saudi Electricity Company, SEK and Saudi Aramco. It was great to hear the distinct experiences from many different organisations.

Global Head of Membership Alexis Willems moderated the panel 'The Transformation journey with The EFQM Model'. Speakers from TDRA, Public works authority in Qatar, Ministry of Interior Bahrain and Orange Jordan joined the stage to discuss best practice and their strategic development since implementing The EFQM Model.

To close the day, we had EFQM CEO and Middle East Director present' Future Foresight with EFQM'present', discussing how we can help organisations to transform sustainably. Our audience heard about all the new and exciting projects EFQM is working on and how we are adapting and evolving to meet the needs of our community and the UN agenda.

EFQM Board Member Waleed Salman joined chairman Dr Paul Little in celebrating all our speakers and panellists in our recognition ceremony that closed the summit.
